      Research on the technology of pest extermination by means of filling a vacuum with nitrogen and manufacture of such facilities

      Wu Liming;Ding Jingeng;Wu Qiwen;Shanghai Municipal Archives;
      This artical deals with how to killing insects in a physical way.Under the automatic program control of 'a gate circuit composed of three terminals of autocontrol,excutive operation program and program change-over,a 1.25 m~3 container can be pumped into a state of vacuum at 666.7 Pa,and then be filled with nitrogen gas whose pressure can be maintained for sixty hours.The test witnesses that in this way insects can be exterminated without detriment to cultural relics,archival records and books both in paper and writing.This nontoxic physical way of exterminating insects neither pollutes environment nor is harmful to human being.The fully-completed and program-controlled system is highly practical and easy to operate with high security.It is a novel insect-killing system available for libraries,archives,museums and so on and so forth.
